Similar to its next door neighbour (Gourmet East Kitchen), Shimei East Kitchen is originally built by Housing Development Board (HDB) and is currently managed by Jurong Town Corporation (JTC). However, it is a non-ramp up building and units here does not comes with a mezzanine office and with lower ceiling height.

Shimei East Kitchen is located at the Eastern side of Singapore within the Bedok Industrial Estate and is a 6-storey multi-user building with sizes ranging from 2,000 sqft to 4,000 sqft. Units here are slightly larger than its neighbour and units are of regular layout with exhaust provision and grease trap. In the past, users who wish to lease a space over here can do so through assignment and paying takeover fee. However this practise has since been disallowed by JTC in 2018.

In terms of accessibility, the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) connects Shimei East Kitchen to other parts of Singapore and the Simei MRT Station is also in close proximity. Labour supply is facilitated by the nearby Simei and Bedok Housing Estate.
